The ruling for almost 3 centuries of Spaniards attributed some cultures and traditions to the people but still the unique and individual characteristic of the town and people is still distinguish from the Spaniards ruling. The municipality is gifted with beautiful tourist spots, festival, foods and its people. Jamindan is one of the biggest municipality in the Province of Capiz. The municipality is characterized by two seasons, the wet and dry seasons.
The town’s maximum population is 34,831. The major dialect of spoken by Jamindanganon is Hiligaynon and Aklanon. Jamindan is accessible to any land transportation to Roxas, Iloilo City and nearby towns by means of a public jeepney and bus. Common transportation within the town is tricycle and “sikad”. The water system financed by KALAHI- CIDDS KKB Project is the source of the portable water that caters the needs of urban residents. CAPELCO is the source of energy and electricity of the town under its expansion program. Jamindan is fortunate to be serving by communication facilities like PLDT, BayanTel and Liberty Telephone Companies. The tourist attraction of Jamindan, like the Grotto of our Lady of Lourdes and Kalikasan Falls within Camp Macario Peralta Jr. is one of the scenic places visitors, and guest could visit. There is also the beautiful Suhoton Cave, located inside the forestland of Brgy. Agcagay which you can explore and discover the secrets of the 38 chambers of this 3 layered cave. The Malinamon Falls found within the Military Reservation is also compared to Niagra Falls of United States which remained unexplored due to its terrain and long distance from the main road. And the Pangabitkabiton Waterfalls found in Brgy.San Jose, a source of life in the watershed to the tributaries and at the same time tourist attraction to be reckon with.
And our famous and unique festival the “PANGAHAW” is a January festivity held every 18-20th of the month to honor to the town’s patron saint, St.Sebastian. Jamindanganon surely is proud of its town.
